Linh Nguyen spent eight years working in nail salons before opening Lux - long enough to see what the industry gets wrong. Corner-cutting on sanitation. Products that are cheaper for the salon but harder on the client’s nails. Technicians trained to work fast rather than well. Lux was built as a reaction to all of that.

We opened in SouthPark in June 2019 with three chairs, a strict sanitation protocol, and a simple philosophy: the work should last, and the experience of getting it done should be pleasant. Neither of those things should be optional.

Our Sanitation Standards

We use hospital-grade disinfectant (Barbicide Plus) on all non-disposable implements, sterilize metal tools in an autoclave between every client, and use a new disposable liner in every foot basin for every pedicure appointment. Our sanitation log is available for inspection at any time. We are licensed by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners and maintain that license through required continuing education.

Products We Use

We work primarily with OPI, Gelish, and SNS (Signature Nail Systems) for color and dip. For acrylics we use Young Nails, which is MMA-free - MMA (methyl methacrylate) is a cheaper monomer that’s been linked to serious nail damage and is banned from professional use in many states. If a salon uses MMA, you’ll often smell it when you walk in. We don’t use it.
